It was a picturesque winter day, something out of a postcard or travel brochure. The waters around the area were crashing up onto the beach and pier just down the way, far enough in the distance to hear only the murmur of man, machine and nature, but close enough still to smell the scent of fresh ocean. Some small local bird was chirping a silly tune as it flitted from one overhang to the other, one building to the next.
Minkah however, cared not for any of this. He had inspected all of this upon his arrival in the quaint town and announced that it would be "adequate". Now, his backpack of books, personal effects and token changes of clothes looking large and cartoon-ish on his back, he turned his head to eye the much taller young man next to him.
"Where are we going?" He piqued, one arm wrapped around his favorite purple pillow.

Minkah made his way down the leaves scattered paths of the woods back of Engineering. The trees were tall here, clumped together here and there. The air was cool, but the little boy figure didn't seemed bothered by the weather, oversized hoodie coming down to cover his fingers and ending mid-thigh. He was looking for someone as he walked, eyes looking slowly over the area, sometimes head tilting as if stopping to listen to something.
